Uganda Stove Manufacturers Limited (often known as Ugastove) is a Ugandan company that designs, manufactures and distributes energy-efficient cookstoves to households and institutions across the country. It began as a small family stove-making enterprise and was formalized in 2007, emerging from pilot work by the Urban Community Development Association (UCODEA) in Kampala. Ugastove’s mission is to improve livelihoods and protect the environment by reducing fuel use, indoor smoke and deforestation through sustainable cooking technologies. Its product range includes improved charcoal and wood stoves for domestic and institutional use, helping users save fuel and reduce costs while lowering indoor air pollution. The company works with partners and leverages carbon financing to expand access to its stoves and promote clean cooking solutions in Uganda.

Can Ugastove stoves be used for commercial purposes?

Yes. We offer specific models designed for commercial and institutional use, including our Commercial Charcoal Stove and Institutional Charcoal Stove. These are built with heavy-duty materials, larger cooking surfaces, and enhanced heat retention to handle daily high-volume cooking in restaurants, schools, and catering businesses.
Do you offer training on how to use the stoves?

Yes. For individual customers, we provide basic usage instructions at the time of purchase. For institutions, schools, and commercial clients, we offer on-site installation and training for kitchen staff.
